  1. Looks like it’ll be full AA/AF for me then, yay for not over the top recommended system requirements! \o/ Also, I appreciate it that these are released before the game, ánd that they include recommended specs. From the bottom of my heart, I so much hate it when publishers only release minimum specs, to me it’s like they’re saying: “Here is what you at least need, just buy the game, and no refund, we don’t care if it runs well, we just want your money…”

      • I’m getting the feeling you didn’t get the point of my reply… I like to know if a game runs fully on my computer, with all settings cranked up, else I won’t bother until I have upgraded. If a publisher puts only minimum specs on the box, I won’t know if it’ll run well (unless minimum specs are so low, that recommended can’t be demanding), and I end up not buying the game. But it seems publishers hope that by not putting recommended specs on the box people will buy the game anyway as they just ‘hope for the best’. I find this to be very annoying.

  2. 3.6ghz 2500K, GTX560Ti here, so I am looking forward to some [email protected] glory. I wish the game was on greenmangaming already, I want to preorder (and I refuse to preorder on steam, with their euro=dollar prices).

  3. Please support proper 7.1 sound on the PC version. Skyrim only renders 5.1 channels while your older games (Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV) properly rendered 7 channels (but ignored the LFE/subwoofer channel).

  4. Woo, my HD 6970 should have some fun with this. CPU might be the choking point though, I think my i5 is only 2.4ghz anyway.

  5. I’ll easily max the game, but it’s quite surprising to see 4GB RAM as a MINIMUM requirement. How the hell are Arkane getting this to run on consoles with their 512MB of RAM?

    • because console versions and PC versions of games are different things. Console versions (unless it’s a direct port) tend to have a bit less detail on the graphics, lower resolutions, etc etc

  6. I’m shocked by the minimum graphics requirement if correct? I’d have thought at least a 260 gtx could still handle this fine.

    • Looks like it, but sometimes companies just include the popular OS that most would recognize. If it truly wont run on XP, yet it’s a DX9 title, then it’s probably a deliberate action to require what’s probably not really required at all ~except that they want it to be.

If it won’t run on XP, I’m skipping it.

  7. Really still no high specs from Beth. Soft. Oh well. At least my machine will have a breeze running it. A bit disapointing with the DirectX 9 if that is all it’s goin to utilize (not that you wrote that directly). So many more options and graphical goodies in 10 and 11.

  8. Um, DirectX 9 compatible with 512 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)

my video card is a gtx 260 and it is dx10 compatible with 1 gig of ram?

also your minimum requirement for CPU is higher than your recommended requirement. hope these aren’t official!

    • Hard take a look at the stpecs again. The CPU requirements aren’t truely higher in the minimum. Notice the number of cores stated. As this will probably support some mulitcore features, having 4 cores does mean you have more power than the duocore specified.

  9. We’ll see. I would be really surprised, if those were the right system requirements. Minimum spec graphics card and memory are the same as recommended spec? More memory required for minimum spec than a 32-bit windows can address? The notes say, that the game is “enhanced for 64-bit”, not that it requires 64-bit. Must be a sloppy copypaste.

  10. Do we have full support to remap the full keyboard, which includes arrow-keys for movement, enter, backspace, ins, del, home, end, numpad, etc., or it will be like the fail Sleeping Dogs?
I can’t play using wasd and for the same reason I can’t bind movement on numpad, only arrowkeys.

  11. Odd. Minimum OS requirement is Vista/7 but with DX9 instead of DX10? I would have figured with XP not on the list that there would be no reason to hold back on the DX10 support.

  12. gstaff – will this game run on Windows XP? There are lots of varying stats out there. Here’s just one of them – 12% of Windows users still use Windows XP. Are you going to lose 10% of your PC sales on this game?

    • I should clarify the stat, since it’s my own. It’s actually 15% of people visiting a Skyrim website (thus Bethesda fans) about console codes for PC (thus, likely mostly PC gamers), who used Windows to visit the site, use Windows XP. The demographic is over 150,000 unique people over the past 7 months, consisting of mostly people in the US and then Canada, Australia, Germany and France, and then all the other countries.

    • For games like Dihonored I built a new PC, so I don’t have to worry about the OS and Graphics for some years.
Hopefully in a few years we will see a lot of games done with GNU/Linux version too, probably main version. In my experience games done with Linux in mind works a lot better in Windows.

  13. Looks like I don’t meet the minimum requirements. It may still run, but it may be sitting a couple years in my backlog until I upgrade.

  14. Uh, there is no such thing as a 512mb 460, nor a 512mb 5850 – the lowest amount of VRAM available on those is 768mb and 1gb respectively. Please can we have the real requirements, preferably with graphics cards that actually exist?

  15. The promo poster for Dishonored shows that the marketing department at Bethesda(I’m looking at you Tweet Hines) lacks any creativity or imagination. Ask yourself: Have I seen this poster before? Answer: Yes you have, they used the exact same poster for Skyrim.

  16. I can’t wait for this game to come out. At last, a game that I can play without having to kill a ton of people. And the magic powers is icing on the cake. Ok, so is the artistic environment. Not sure if I will upgrade my PC or if I will take my newphews advice and buy an Xbox.
