The Knife of Dunwall arrives April 16th

Those that have played Dishonored vividly can recall the actions of Daud – the legendary assassin that puts the game’s plot into motion. Beginning April 16th, you’ll return to this fateful moment and play the role of Daud in the story-driven add-on, The Knife of Dunwall.

Features of the new DLC include:

New Powers, Weapons and Gadgets — The mark of the Outsider empowers you with unique supernatural abilities. Call upon the Whalers to assist in combat with ‘Summon Assassin’, track down hidden Runes and Bone Charms with ‘Void Gaze’ and learn to use new variations to powers, including ‘Blink’. To aid in your dangerous exploits your customized arsenal of weapons and gadgets will include Chokedust to daze your enemies, whale oil powered Stun Mines to shock your targets, and a concealed Wristbow to launch sleep darts and explosive bolts.

Explore More of Dunwall —Make your way through the Legal District and infiltrate the Rothwild Slaughterhouse, a steaming factory filled with colossal whale carcasses and their hulking butchers. Revisit the decaying Flooded District, the location of Daud’s hidden base, first seen in the original game. Return to the scenes of key events in Dishonored with a new perspective, including the fateful moment that sets off Corvo’s journey.

Choose Your Path — On your search for answers, approach each mission with your own style. Your redemption – or your turn towards darkness – depends on your skills and the decisions you make. Discover the mystery behind Delilah in this stand-alone chapter, and then conclude Daud’s story in the upcoming final add-on, The Brigmore Witches.

The Knife of Dunwall will be available on April 16th on PlayStation 3 and Steam ($9.99), as well as on Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft points. Stay tuned for new information on the content.

  1. I’m a very huge fan of dishonored and was wondering if there would be a patch or on the last dlc, if there will be a new game plus for this game?

  2. This was a fantastic idea for Dishonored DLC. Kudos to whoever came up with it.

But the important question unanswered here is how big is the pack? Since it’s all story-missions, you should be able to roughly say how big it is in relation to Dishonored’s original plot. Maybe a quarter of the size? A fifth?

  3. Yeah, this DLC sounds pretty much exactly how DLC for Dishonored should sound. The only thing left to know is:
How long will (each) DLC be ? if each had 4 full missions, that would be fantastic..even 3 would be good, if they are long.

  4. Any chance we can hope for a patch for Dunwall City Trials? They were fun, but the difficulty spike from the main game was insane. Some of the requirements are completely luck based and extremely difficult as to make them unfun to repeat the necessary amount of times to get the high scores. I hate to be a whiner, but I consider myself a pretty good player and man these things are killer.

  5. Will it be again unavailable on Steam for Central and Eastern Europe, like Dunwall City Trials? Because, you know, that’s kinda counterproductive and offending.

  6. Well I’ll be… a DLC which, upon first hearing about it, I immediately want without reading anything more about it.

    Daud… oh yes…

  7. One flaw I see.

“Choose Your Path – On your search for answers, approach each mission with your own style. Your redemption – or your turn towards darkness – depends on your skills and the decisions you make.”

This doesn’t work with the story of the game. There is no choice regarding Daud trying to redeem himself or turning towards darkness. The character openly states that he regretted his actions. Its official cannon that he doesn’t turn towards darkness.

    • Not necessarily. He said he regretted killing the empress – whether or not that applies to all the other people you either kill or avoid the rest of the DLC is up to you.

  8. I am greatly excited about the first story driven DLC of Dishonored. The game’s universe has huge potential for future DLC’s development, and I have deep and cemented trust both in the talents of Arcane Studios people and to my Beth’s talented and passionate folks also.

Congratulations from me too for the wonderful idea of the DLC concept.I can’t wait, and please allow us to preorder and preload from Steam the soonest possible.

    Thank you.

  9. Oh Yeah!!! This is what I’be Been Waiting for!! Gratulations and a Big Up for Arkane!! Beth, keep supporting them, they’ve got huge Potential!!

  10. Fantastic concept for DLC! This should really help strengthen the already stellar core narrative. Arkane are really doing an excellent job here – no doubt Dishonored will be fondly remembered decades from now.

  11. I will buy all DLC for this, because it will encourage Bethesda to keep the Dishonored series going, therefor we will get a Dishonored 2! So Bethesda, please take my money!
