If case you’ve been in under a rock… or in a Vault, here’s a refresher on what to anticipate in each adventure in the franchise:

You’ve just unearthed the classic post-apocalyptic role-playing game that revitalized the entire CRPG genre. The Fallout SPECIAL system allows drastically different types of characters, meaningful decisions and development that puts you in complete control. Explore the devastated ruins of a golden age civilization. Talk, sneak or fight your way past mutants, gangsters and robotic adversaries. Make the right decisions or you could end up as another fallen hero in the wastelands…

Fallout 2

Fallout 2  is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game that took RPG’ing out of the dungeons and into a dynamic, apocalyptic retro-future. It’s been 80 long years since your ancestors trod across the wastelands. As you search for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit to save your primitive village, your path is strewn with crippling radiation, megalomaniac mutants, and a relentless stream of lies, deceit and treachery. You begin to wonder if anyone really stands to gain anything from this brave new world.

Mastering your character’s skills and traits for survival, Fallout 2 will challenge you to endure in a post-nuclear world whose future withers with every passing moment…

Fallout Tactics

Tactical Squad-Based Combat comes to the Fallout Universe!

You are the wretched refuse. You may be born from dirt, but we will forge you into steel. You will learn to bend; if not you, will you break. In these dark times, the Brotherhood – your Brotherhood – is all that stands between the rekindled flame of civilization and the howling, radiated wasteland.

Your weapons will become more than your tools, they will become your friends. You will use your skills to inspire the lowly and protect the weak… whether they like it or not. Your squadmates will be more dear to you than your kin and for those that survive there will be honor, respect and the spoils of war.

    • Wonderful news!

However, it’s disappointing that none of them is Mac compatible unlike what GOG did. Please consider making Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics playable on both PC and Mac on Steam.

  1. Is it at all a possibility that these games could be digitally remastered and released on console? That would be dope!

    • I doubt that’ll happen. All 3 games are turn based strategy games, which would be a bit tricky to play on consoles.

  2. It would be great to have the games back on GOG.com again. People should be able to experience these amazing games even though they don’t use Steam.

    Please make that happen.

    • This. The GOG team optimized the originals wonderfully. When I bought them on steam, they had made NO effeort to make them compatible. Colours srewing up, etc. GOG’s version is much better.

      • No. This steam version by Bethesda fixed all problem you commented.
Moreover, Bethesda’s steam version also provides high resolutions option and steam cloud.
Why we should take GOG version from now?

      • This.
I’m all covered with the DRM-free version which I bought years ago on GOG. Steam doesn’t care if it runs on your system nor will they even try getting it to run on future systems, GOG did.
Too bad you guys at Bethesda don’t seem to see that.

        • Siannah / No.
The guys didn’t concern with Steam version were Interplay boys.
This is the first year that Bethesda guys may manage classic fallouts.

  3. My fondest memory? Finding these games wonderfully re-mastered and on sale on GOG.com. My fondest moment? Playing those re-mastered, DRM-free games from a distributor who truly cared about the customers desire to want to own a piece of history, who went to great lengths to make that a reality. Bring them back where they rightfully belong to GOG.com!

    • If we have information on releasing these games to other digital platforms, we’ll let everyone know. Our priority has been getting everything up on Steam.

      • Perhaps your priority then shouldn’t be Steam all the time. I love Bethesda games, but I no longer use Steam… and since Bethesda refuses to make a deal with GOG (which I do use) or any other digital platforms really, I guess I’ll no longer buy Beth games even though I do own many current ones.

Bring Fallout classics to GOG and other classic Beth titles so that us users that don’t want to use Steam can still enjoy Beth games.

      • … yet another self-serving declaration with the sole intention to dodge questions – and the very next day you promote the Steam sale…

We’re aware that Steam wasn’t your priority – it was the only option you considered. Which is sad. But giving us the same marketing twaddle for a half year, over and over again?

I hope some day you guys see the light. But I doubt it.

      • Please let your PHBs (Pointy Haired Bosses) know that people will buy these games on platforms that are not Steam as well.
